Sad to report the passing of Suzie Bruni's
mom at age 98. She was an amazing woman who passed on her passion for
art and life to Suzie. Mrs. Bickford was an inspiration to all who knew
her. May wonderful memories bring Suzie and Bill, and their family
comfort during this difficult time. Here are some special words from one of Bill and Sue's Daughters...
98 Years! What could you do if you lived that long? Could you be an artist? A parent? Could you see your children raise children of their own? Could you get to meet your great-grandchildren? Could you travel the world? Could you live through generations of war and see major technological changes throughout the years? Could you survive disease and debilitation and let it roll of your back as if nothing negative was happening in your life?
Yes! Yes, you could, if your name was Jane Bickford! This beautiful lady right here did ALL of that and MORE! She lived through World War 2 and countless wars afterwards. She traveled the world with her family - NY, Holland, Japan, Massachusetts, Ohio, the list goes on! She raised 3 beautiful girls and got to see her grandchildren AND great-grandchildren be born and thrive! She was an AMAZING artist! Her kind heart and sweet ways won over so many people who loved her dearly!
She
fought off breast cancer in her 80’s - and kicked it’s butt! She lost
most of her eyesight but NEVER gave up her art - and NEVER let it defeat
her - it was just a minor roadblock that needed to be worked around.
She faced all problems in her life with her head held high and a
positive outlook until the “problem” resolved itself. She was one of the
strongest, most wonderful women I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
And I will miss her dearly.
I love you, Grandma Jane, you nifty lady, you! Thank you for showing me what it is to live a FULL, HAPPY life! You were a wonderful woman - and one of the BEST role models I could’ve ever asked for.
