As an aside, us Westchester folks may find the legend about "The Levee" being a bar in New Rochelle and the suggestion that the chorus line is actually, "Good ol' boys were drinking whiskey in Rye (as opposed to whiskey and rye)" of interest. Here are a couple of articles that discuss the Westchester connection to the song. BTW, the original 16-page working manuscript of the lyrics sold at auction for $1.2 million.
